Priest Lake(ID) Pacific Coast Championships 1978. 3-dog class. 36 teams. We finished the two-day race in 12th place. This three-dog Samoyed team trained with a bike on gravel. We averaged about 20 mph in training. These dogs had never run on snow, had never passed another team, had never even SEEN another team. We averaged 15 mph second day, in the course of passing 7 teams.
