Working

I find it of great importance to perpetuate the ability of the Samoyed as a working dog. And I find that the only way I can do so is to actually WORK my dogs. Since I have enjoyed being active and am of an athletic nature myself…it is not too far a stretch for me to really ENJOY getting out and running the dogs on a sled, with the cart, or on the bike. I have done so for over 40 years!

The ABAKAN Samoyeds have been involved in weight pull, in herding, in packing, in cart and sled racing and cart, sled, and bikejor excursions. I particularly enjoy running the dogs on the bike and you will find here a bikejor section.
